Our Story

It started with a trip to Amritsar.

Not a business trip, not a planned "let's start a brand" moment — just me and my cousin, wandering through streets that smelled like history and felt like freedom. Somewhere between the gurudwaras and the bazaars, an idea took root that I couldn't quite shake once I got home.

I was in a corporate job at the time — the kind everyone tells you to be grateful for. And I was. But that trip made me ask a question I hadn't let myself ask before: what if I built something of my own instead?

Telling my parents wasn't easy. Ours is a family rooted in the steady, secure paths — corporate, defence, government. Walking away from a well-paying job to chase a bag brand wasn't exactly the plan anyone had in mind, including me, a few months earlier. But somewhere in those conversations, between their worry and my certainty, they chose to back me — and that support is something I carry into every decision I make for Toteva.

Why bags. Why now.

A bag isn't just an accessory — it's the one thing every woman carries, every single day, through every version of her life. The commute, the coffee date, the laptop bag for a meeting that runs late, the going-out bag that needs to hold just enough. We wanted to build something that didn't make you choose between looking good and actually functioning.

Made with Indian hands, made to last

Every Toteva bag is made in collaboration with skilled Indian karigars — artisans whose hands have shaped leather and craft for years, often for brands that never said their names. We wanted that to change. Quality, to us, isn't a marketing word. It's the stitching that holds, the leather that ages well, the straps that don't fray after a month. It's respect for the craft and the people behind it.

Built with you, not just for you

Toteva isn't a brand that decides what you need and hands it to you. We're listening — to what you tell us in comments, in DMs, in surveys, in the quiet moments when you say "I wish my bag could do this." Every future design, every colourway, every drop will carry a little of that conversation in it.

This is just the beginning. The Debut Collection is our first chapter — but it won't be the last.

Thank you for being here from the start.
